Construction has become a $1 trillion-plus business in the U.S. every year, and many people in the construction industry still feel as if they have a lot of work to do.
A recent report by the Urban Land Institute found that only 5% of Americans believe the industry is doing enough to help them build and maintain their homes.
The institute said this lack of investment in new construction homes is due in part to a lack of regulation, lack of training and a lack in training and experience for the construction trades.
So, in this week’s installment of Housing and Jobs: Inside the Construction Industry, HuffPost Health spoke with three of the top construction professionals in the country to learn more about how construction works and how the industry could benefit from the $1trillion in funding the U-S economy needs to create 10 million jobs in the next 10 years.
We also talked with experts on the industry about the next steps, including the challenges ahead for the industry as a whole.
