Construction workers are finishing the construction of a new home in a small Utah town, a move that will boost the town’s economic prospects.
A developer has been looking for a home to build for about five years, but no one has ever built one in Utah, according to local news station KUTV.
The developer had hoped to build a new townhome in Mortensen, but the town already has a number of other homes.
The home will be about 1,200 square feet and feature a 1,600-square-foot garage and a master bedroom.
The builder hopes to open the home in mid-2018.
In addition to Mortensen’s new home, KUTv reports that construction will also be underway on a house in neighboring Salt Lake City that will be a 1.4-acre home, with a total of 5,200-square feet.
The new home is expected to be completed in late 2019.
