Construction will start to wrap up for the Brisbane CBD in about a week’s time, with many projects expected to take about two months to complete.
Brisbane City Council announced the completion of two new buildings in the CBD this week, the Westfield South End development and the new Central Business Centre development.
The council has been working on the Westpoint development since early 2016, and the two new developments will be built on the site of the old Westpoint Plaza.
The Central Business Center is expected to be completed in early 2019, while the new South Point development will be finished in 2020.
Construction for the Central Business Park was announced in January, with the council hoping to finish the construction in late 2021.
“This will create an excellent site for business and economic growth in the heart of Brisbane,” Mayor Bill Byrne said in a statement.
“I’m pleased to confirm that the project is now officially underway.”
The council announced the construction would be complete in about two weeks, with work expected to wrap-up by mid-October.
“We are confident that we will be able to complete the work to the full satisfaction of the council and its residents, and we look forward to working with the city’s partners to deliver a wonderful future for Brisbane,” Ms Byrne said.
